Project Description
an app that compensates for tremors using the accelerometer of the device.
Year
2022
More than 10 million people worldwide suffer from Parkinson's disease. The most common symptom is a tremor, usually on one side. This uncontrollable tremor makes even the simplest hand movements an extreme challenge. Among other things, the tremor gives Parkinson's patients a hard time operating smart devices, or even just reading on them. We want to change that.
The app itself opens a browser window that is slightly smaller than the screen all around. We use this buffer zone to always move the browser window in the opposite direction of the shaking in real time. This way, the device shakes, but the browser window stays in the same place for the viewer.
The usability of the app menu has also been specially adapted to the needs of Parkinson's patients. The app and all of its features were developed in close collaboration with Parkinson's patients.
